Rooster Ban Up for Vote May 23 in Unincorporated Cook County

An amendment to prohibit roosters and limit the number of chickens you can keep on less than 1 acre from 12 to 5 goes before the Cook County Board today, May 23.
If you live in unincorporated Cook, please contact your commissioners TODAY, Thurs., May 23, and ask them to vote NO to this proposed amendment.
While the Chicago chicken keeping community discourages keeping roosters due to noise levels, we fear that banning of roosters might lead to banning chickens altogether. I’m hoping the reasoning behind this ban isn’t applied to Chicago.
